Zinnia (Zinnia Elegans dahliaeflora Peppermint Stick) 100 seeds
Annual plant, which grows up to 60 cm, with large (10-12 cm), full dark multi color flowers.
Erected, branched stems are thick and stiff but very brittle.
Excellent plant for large gardens, nice cut flowers.
It requires warm places and sufficiently moist soil.
Removal of the first flower buds results in better branching stems and abundant flowering.
Zinnias like to be well watered especially when young; but do not like waterlogged soil. As a rule of thumb, plants like about 2-3 cm of water per week.

Sow from March to April in pots or trays of moist seed compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a constant temperature of between +20-+25C.
After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 10-21 days. Can also be sown once the soil has warmed, 3mm deep in drills 30cm apart in well-cultivated soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 23 cm apart.
When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7-8 cm pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 25-30 cm apart.
