About the product
Asian in origin, old fashioned weigela is a tough and easy to grow deciduous shrub. Its blooms are colorful, attract pollinators in droves.
This medium size deciduous shrub from eastern Asia has arching branches and develops a fountain-like habit when left undisturbed. It has elliptical, medium green leaves that offer little to no fall color. A profusion of beautiful and tubular pink flowers appear in late spring to early summer.
For best flowering and growth, provide this shrub with full to partial sun and average to fertile soil with good drainage. It looks super in mixed borders or in informal hedges.
Prune it in the summer after it blooms, but be sure not to shear it as this destroys the elegant fountain-like habit of mature plants.
