Chinese Yew (Taxus Chinensis) 15 seeds (#124)

A Chinese native growing to 1 meter in a year to an eventual size around 15 meters. With 4 cm sharp pointed leaves are glossy dark green above and gray green below.
Though mostly unknown; this is really amazing plant.
It is heat, sun and drought tolerant.
It's habit is a narrow to broadly pyramidal. Dark green leaves are linear with spiny tips. Leaves turn to a reddish-green tint in winter.
It is a fast grower which makes it an excellent candidate for a high quality hedge. Trim hedges from summer to early fall.
Grows in almost any soil, acid or alkaline, as long as it is well-drained. Plants are very shade tolerant.

GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Soak in very warm (~+40-+45C) water for 24 hours.
2. Cold stratify for 60-90 days.
3. Sow seed 10 mm deep, keep the soil moist, in partial shade
The seeds can be sown outdoors in the fall or the beginning of winter for natural stratification and spring germination.
