Description

An easy to grow annual plant with delicate blue and white blooms from June to September. Flowering in colours reminiscent of the well known pottery, Nigella papillosa 'Delft Blue' makes a useful filler for gaps in summer borders.
Commonly known as Love-In-A-Mist, this easy to grow hardy annual is a well loved cottage garden plant, used to soften border edges.
The seeds have a strong aroma and spicy taste, they can be used as a condiment or spice to flavour cakes, breads and curries.
Full sun and fertile to average, well-drained soil are suitable for these annuals. They are easy to grow. Simply sprinkle their seeds outdoors in fall or early spring and they will come up on their own. They do not transplant well, so do not grow them indoors for outdoor planting.
These are best planted as filler annuals between perennials or more long-lasting annuals. They are lovely while they last and their delicate seed pods can be dried and used in everlasting arrangements.
