A perennial plant about 80 cm tall with original, white-pink, heart-shaped flowers. An excellent plant for planting trees, shrubs for perennial beds, for containers and as a solitaire.
Bleeding heart grows best in fertile soil with average drainage. It prefers full to part sun, but does not appreciate high heat. In fact, as the summer temperatures rise plants often retreat underground until the following year.
Use this fine ornamental in perennial borders and cottage gardens. Contact dermatitis occurs in some people who touch the leaves of bleeding hearts, or at least aggravates skin allergies.

Firstly I would like to thank OMCseeds for their excellent service!
I have tried growing Dicentra spectabilis from but I never have had any success (not a single germination).
Also, I have seen varying germination instructions on different stores, website & companies.
But this time I followed the conclusions from this paper-
'Factors affecting the dormancy and germination of bleeding heart [Lamprocapnos spectabilis (L.) Fukuhara] seeds
J S Cho et al. Plant Biol (Stuttg). 2020 May.'

I treated the seeds first with a warm, moist period of 1 month (required for embryo formation & lengthening) followed by a cold, moist period of 2 months (required for hormonal changes necessary for germination).

So far I have been able to successfully germinate 5 seeds (and they are healthy seedlings as of now) as of now & hopefully I will have some more in the coming weeks.
Considering that the bleeding heart is known to have very low germination rate, my results sound great.
