Pampas Grass (Cortaderia Selloana Pink) 75 seeds (#1741)

One of the signature plants of the vast Argentine plains for which it is named, pampas grass is an imposing, clump-forming, highly ornamental evergreen grass that is grown and naturalized throughout the milder climatic regions of the world. Plants grown under the cultivar name 'Rosea' bear large, showy, plumy heads of pink flowers atop lofty stalks from late summer into autumn. Because plants offered by this name are not genetically identical, flower color may vary. The long, folded, fountaining leaves are ornamental year-round.
This drought-tolerant grass prefers full sun, well-drained soil, and occasional watering during extended dry spells. Remove brown dead leaves with a rake: the often recommended practice of shearing the clump to the ground can damage or kill the plant. Mass this plant as a screen or windbreak, or use it as a specimen or border plant. Place it where its rough, sharp leaf edges do not pose a risk to passersby.
