An annual plant with upright or sloping stems and numerous tiny golden-yellow flowers. The clutch blooms profusely and long. The catch is resistant to summer and autumn cold.
The plant is used for hanging containers, lawns and boxes on balconies, terraces and rock gardens.
Grow tickerseed in any moderately to highly fertile soil with average drainage. Mucky soils, such as in a roadside ditch or meadow depression, are a particularly good habitat. If soil moisture is ample, full sun is tolerated, but in slightly drier situation, partial sun to partial shade (shade in the heat of the mid-afternoon) is best. Be diligent about removing seedlings control this plant's inevitable spread across your property.
Use it in summer flower borders, butterfly gardens, or wildflower meadows. Cut the flowers to embellish and fill a vase indoors.
