The Kalkora mimosa is one of the most beautiful mimosas because of completely white flowers with a slightly yellow tint.
This medium-large sized tree from Asia is naturalized in a small area on and near the Duke University campus in Durham, North Carolina. The native range includes China, India, Japan, Burma, and Vietnam. It’s a rare species.
Grows well in sheltered, sunny spot. Grows fast Flowers from May to June.
Like all other mimosas, or sleep trees, Kalkora mimosa closes her leaves in the evening and opens them again when the sun sets.
Its a remarkable addition to your garden!

1. File or sand through the outer seedcoat carefully. Pour hot water (+60C) over seed, let stand in water for 24 hours. Repeat process on seed that did not imbibe.
2. Sow seed 3-4 mm (1/8") deep, keep moist. Keep at +20C for germination.
